My question is related to an incident I had last week regarding an oil shop. I took my car into Valvoline to get an oil change and they offered to change my transmission fluid for an extra fee. I decided to go with it, and about 3 hours later my car’s transmission starting having issues. I took my car back into the shop today and they tried “fixing it” which only made it worse. My car’s transmission sounds shot, at this point, and I am planning on speaking with the manager tomorrow. From my general research, it looks like my transmission will most likely need to be replaced, which is upwards of $3000. If Valvoline doesn’t pay for the damages of the car, I am thinking of taking them to small claims court. How likely would it be to win my claim? How lengthy of a process would it be to do so?
